Founder’s Story ~ Roger and Carol Lubs

Fifteen years ago as my husband and I were completing our first adoption, a son Daniel, the Lord started speaking to me. The message was that women choose abortion over an adoption plan or parenting because they don’t have adequate support for choosing life. There is more abortion information and post abortion support than there is pro-life. It was at that time that the Lord asked me to start an organization to come along side women to help them with their choices. During the next twelve years, we have also adopted twins, who were born at 28 weeks and each weighed 1 pound 6 ounces at birth. The Lord’s incredible faithfulness has been evident as we have seen our daughter become a normally functioning young lady after experiencing a grade three bleed in her brain, rendering her dependent on a shunt for life. Her twin, Michael, was hospitalized five times with severe asthma problems during his first 18 months, and was on five different medications and four breathing treatments a day. He now is asthma free and off all medications. We also enjoy an open relationship with one birthparent in each of our adoptions. We have experienced the joy of raising children who are labeled differently by society than ourselves. The Lord has shown his faithfulness by providing for us financially and seeing us through many hospitalizations, marital struggles, and diversity challenges. All of our lives are richer for it.

Over a year ago, the Lord started sending people into my life that were ready to hear what God was asking me to do. I was told of the Omega house and started talking to Alpha about reopening it as a maternity home. Six months ago our steering committee started meeting for Cradles of Grace, and we have determined that we will open a pregnancy support center with housing in shepherding homes as an option. The mission of the center is to equip women who have chosen life for their unplanned pregnancy through Christian principles, mentoring, educating, and housing until both the baby and the mother’s lives are rebuilt. We are excited to see the rest of God’s plan as it unfolds.

An extended care, pregnancy support resource, for women who have chosen life for their unplanned pregnancy.
